School and Community Activities
- Feature the national anthem as an important part of your ceremonies and concerts.
- Encourage administrators to include the anthem as a part of the regular school day.
- Encourage your local leaders to include singing the anthem before meetings and events.
- Speak and present materials at your local school board meetings about the important role music teachers play in passing American heritage on from one generation to another.
- Contact local radio stations and encourage them to play the anthem at noon each day. When you hear it being played, don't be afraid to stop and show respect for the song.
- Contact local sports teams and ask if you or your students can lead the crowd in singing the anthem before a game. Encourage them to print the words in the program so the crowd can sing along.
